A witness stated that she was at Penn Treaty Park when she found two bones that appeared to be human shin bones at 5:02 p.m., according to the Philadelphia Police Department.
The bones were located in a grassy, rocky area along the park’s waterline, police said. The Medical Examiner’s Office collected the bones for further investigation. No additional evidence was observed at the location.
While the sex and race have yet to be determined, investigators said that the unidentified victim had been dead "for some time," according to an NBC 10 News report. No clothing or other evidence was found near the bones.
